What an incredible Scottish Premiership season that was. A title race for the ages, twists and turns aplenty and drama right up until the end.
Hearts so cruelly denied a first title win since 1960 in the final three minutes of the campaign as Celtic, crisis-ridden during the campaign, were crowned champions of Scotland for a fifth successive - and record - 56th time.
Motherwell, revitalised under the outstanding management of Jens Berthel-Askou, are back in Europe after finishing fourth, while Falkirk’s top-half finish showed that they are truly back amongst the back boys after years in the lower league wilderness.
Rangers showed promise at times, but find themselves well off the pace after a disastrous start and end to the campaign, meaning it is back to the drawing board for chairman Andrew Cavenagh, who has vowed to keep faith with head coach Danny Rohl.
But who was each side’s best player this season? Here, we look at all 12 Scottish Premiership teams and pick their star player for the 2025/26 campaign:

1. Aberdeen - Kevin Nisbet
It's been a tough season for Aberdeen. Winners of the Scottish Cup under Jimmy Thelin last year, the Swedish head coach lasted until January before he was shown the exit door at Pittodrie. Few players have shone for the Dons this season, with the summer recruitment proving a particular disappointment. However, Nisbet is one player who can hold his head high. The Scotland international scored nine league goals and was pivotal to his side keeping their heads above water. | SNS Group

2. Celtic - Benjamin Nygren
When Celtic's title challenge began to falter, it was often the playmaker who dug them out of the mud. Signed for just £1.2million in the summer, Nygren ended the campaign with 16 league goals and five assists. While Daizen Maeda will get the plaudits for his incredible form post-split, it was the Swede who produced all season long. | SNS Group

3. Dundee - Luke Graham
On the shopping list for several clubs this summer, the young centre-back has come of age under Steven Pressley at Dens Park this season. Still just 22, his name has been mentioned as a potential candidate for Scotland's squad at the World Cup this summer. Strong and imposing, he has won more aerial duels than 95 per cent of other defenders in the league. An exciting talent that Dundee will struggle to hold onto. | SNS Group

4. Dundee United - Will Ferry
The technically gifted wing-back has been a star performer alongside Luca Stephenson at Tannadice this season, despite their side's inconsistent season. The Irishman has contributed to 10 league goals for the first time in his career, and created an astonishing 79 chances for his side this season. | SNS Group
