What an incredible Scottish Premiership season that was. A title race for the ages, twists and turns aplenty and drama right up until the end.
Hearts so cruelly denied a first title win since 1960 in the final three minutes of the campaign as Celtic, crisis-ridden during the campaign, were crowned champions of Scotland for a fifth successive - and record - 56th time.
Motherwell, revitalised under the outstanding management of Jens Berthel-Askou, are back in Europe after finishing fourth, while Falkirk’s top-half finish showed that they are truly back amongst the back boys after years in the lower league wilderness.
Rangers showed promise at times, but find themselves well off the pace after a disastrous start and end to the campaign, meaning it is back to the drawing board for chairman Andrew Cavenagh, who has vowed to keep faith with head coach Danny Rohl.
But who was each side’s best player this season? Here, we look at all 12 Scottish Premiership teams and pick their star player for the 2025/26 campaign:

9. Livingston - Jerome Prior
There's been barely anything to cheer about at Almondvale this season, with Livingston winning just two of their 38 top-flight games. If anyone has come out of their season with credit, it was their French goalkeeper. His stats show just four clean sheets and 75 goals conceded; it could have been even worse had he not produced a number of good saves. | SNS Group

10. Motherwell - Elijah Just
The New Zealand international will become the first Motherwell player to play at the World Cup since Tommy Coyne in 1994, and he'll head there with plenty of confidence after a stunning debut season at Fir Park. With 14 goal contributions from the wing, he edges out teammate Tawanda Maswanhise for this spot. | SNS Group

11. Rangers - Mikey Moore
The top and tail of Rangers' season was nothing short of a disaster, though a middle section which showed some real reasons to be cheerful has left Ibrox a little perplexed. While Youssef Chermiti and Emmanuel Fernandez have both enjoyed strong debut campaigns with the club, there's no doubting that Moore has been Rangers' shining light. The 18-year-old returns to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, but many fans are praying for a return - if at all possible. | SNS Group

12. St Mirren - Killian Phillips
After three consecutive top-half finishes under Stephen Robinson, the Paisley outfit came unravelled a little this season prior to the manager's departure to Aberdeen, and they now face a relegation playoff with Partick Thistle to keep themselves in the top flight. There has been a major high point this season in Paisley with the Premier Sports Cup win - the club's first major silverware since 2013. The physically imposing Phillips has been their best player throughout the campaign, contributing eight goals from midfield. | SNS Group
