The Scottish Premiership is set to return this weekend following a three week international break, with Celtic and Rangers battling it out for a place at the top of the tree.
It’s been an intriguing start to the new campaign, with Derek McInnes’ side stuttering badly at the beginning, before a consistent run of wins led them to back-to-back Old Firm victories over Celtic, who are without a win in their last three games in all competitions.
While the window is closed, the free agent market could still play a part for many other Scottish Premiership clubs before January, with several players still available on free transfers.
But how many free agents are Scottish Premiership stars of the past? Here are 10 former Scottish Premiership players available for free and still searching for new clubs this season.

9. Joe Aribo
One of the key components in Steven Gerrard's title winning Rangers side, the Nigerian international most famously scored the opening goal in the 2022 Europa League final with one of his final touches for the club. Signed by Southampton for £6million that summer, he suffered two relegations and a promotion at St Mary's, but ended his time at the club on loan to Leicester City for the final months of last season. 10. Alex Iacovitti
The defender played at various youth levels for Scotland after beginning his career with Nottingham Forest. Brought back home by Ross County in the summer of 2020, he featured over 100 times for the Staggies before signing for Port Vale. He lasted just a year in the EFL, though, and returned to the Scottish Premiership with St Mirren for a season before eventually re-joining Ross County last summer. Released by the Dingwall club after their second successive relegation in June, he is yet to agree a deal with a new club. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
