The Scottish Premiership window is now slammed shut until the new year after a hectic summer transfer window at Rangers under new manager Derek McInnes.
A total of 14 new players arrived following McInnes’ appointment in the summer, with Lawrence Shankland, Dan Neil and Olwethu Makhanya headlining a major overhaul of Rangers’ squad.
Back-to-back wins over Celtic have reinvigorated the Rangers support after an extremely tough start to the season, and supporters are now hoping they can finally dethrone their fierce Glasgow rivals come the end of the campaign in May.
While the window is closed, the free agent market could still play a part for many other Scottish Premiership clubs before January, with several players still available on free transfers. But how many free agents are Rangers stars of the past?
Here are 10 former Rangers players available for free and searching for new clubs this season.

1. Greg Docherty
After struggling to break into the Rangers first team after signing from Hamilton, Docherty moved to Hull City, where he was promoted from EFL League One in 2021. He repeated the trick with Charlton Athletic four years later via the playoffs, and went on to become the Addicks' club captain. Departing the Valley last month, the 30-year-old is still looking for a new club. | SNS Group

2. Rabbi Matondo
After occasional bright moments in a Rangers shirt, Matondo joined SK Brann on a free transfer in March following a succession of hamstring injuries. However, his stint in Bergen did not go well, and the Norwegian club ended his contract after limited playing time last month. The Welsh international is still searching for a new club. | SNS Group

3. Jake Hastie
One of Scotland's most highly rated youngsters during his time at Motherwell, he was snapped up by Rangers for a compensation fee in the summer of 2019. However, he simply not managed to get himself going at Ibrox, making just three appearances. Loan spells at Linfield, Rotherham United, Hartlepool and Hamilton would follow before he left on a free transfer to sign for Ayr United two years ago. A regular with Airdrieonians last season, he exited the club in the summer and is still currently a free agent. | SNS Group

4. Joe Aribo
The Nigerian international won every single domestic trophy during his time at Rangers and was a key player during the successful Steven Gerrard era. However, he's best remembered for scoring the opening goal in the Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt. He left to join Southampton for a fee of £6million just weeks after the showcase final, where he endured a turbulent time, experiencing one promotion and two relegations. Aribo ended last season on loan to Leicester City, but struggled to impress before being released by the Saints in June. Still only 30, he's searching for his next club. | SNS Group
