Rangers' hopes of reaching the Europa League knock-out stage took another huge blow after falling to a fourth successive defeat as Roma ran out 2-0 winners at Ibrox.
First-half strikes from Matías Soulé (13) and Lorenzo Pellegrini (36) silenced a frustrated Ibrox crowd early on, sealed a comfortable win for the Italian giants and left Rangers head coach Danny Rohl to pick the bones of a damaging defeat which left the home crowd dissatisfied and disgruntled.
The result means Rohl’s side remain rock bottom of the Europa League table on zero points, with early elimination from a competition they’ve reached the quarter-final of in two of the last four seasons now looking very likely.
The Rangers boss will now turn his attention back to the Scottish Premiership as he looks to secure a third consecutive league victory and lift spirits against Dundee at Dens Park this Sunday. Meanwhile, tonight’s opponents Roma will return to Glasgow in just 35 days, with Gian Piero Gasperini’s side Celtic’s next Europa League visitors on December 11.

9. Djeidi Gassama - 6
Final ball was poor, and seemed to lose the physical battle. Kept trying to get Rangers going with his direct running. Almost helped grab one for Rangers out of nothing with a dangerous run down the right, but Moore was unable to finish off his cross. Frustrated fans when he took his time going off, despite the team being 2-0 down. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

10. Mikey Moore - 6
Plenty of endeavour, but looks too eager to please and often makes the wrong decision. Unlucky with a right-foot drive from just outside the area on the hour mark, but was applauded off the pitch by the Rangers fans who clearly appreciated his effort in tough circumstances. | PA Photo: PA

11. Youssef Chermiti - 5
Was really unlucky with an angled drive in the first-half, and was a physical presence that asked questions of Roma's defence early on. He faded quickly though, as Rangers fell to a meek defeat. Missed an absolute sitter on the hour mark that saw the entirety of Ibrox groan with frustration. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

12. Substitutes:
Thelo Aasgaard - 5 (Came on at half-time as part of a tactical switch, but couldn't spark Rangers into life. Went close with a shot in the area late on). Mohamed Diomande - 4 (Offered little as second-half substitute). Danilo - 5 (Some nice touches, but on too late to make a real difference). Bojan Miovski - N/A (Late sub). Findlay Curtis - N/A (Late sub). | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
