Rangers' hopes of reaching the Europa League knock-out stage took another huge blow after falling to a fourth successive defeat as Roma ran out 2-0 winners at Ibrox.
First-half strikes from Matías Soulé (13) and Lorenzo Pellegrini (36) silenced a frustrated Ibrox crowd early on, sealed a comfortable win for the Italian giants and left Rangers head coach Danny Rohl to pick the bones of a damaging defeat which left the home crowd dissatisfied and disgruntled.
The result means Rohl’s side remain rock bottom of the Europa League table on zero points, with early elimination from a competition they’ve reached the quarter-final of in two of the last four seasons now looking very likely.
The Rangers boss will now turn his attention back to the Scottish Premiership as he looks to secure a third consecutive league victory and lift spirits against Dundee at Dens Park this Sunday. Meanwhile, tonight’s opponents Roma will return to Glasgow in just 35 days, with Gian Piero Gasperini’s side Celtic’s next Europa League visitors on December 11.

5. Max Aarons - 5
Played in a more natural position on the right before he switched flanks at the break as part of a tactical change by Rohl. Fairly anonymous, without doing too much wrong. | PA Photo: PA

6. Jayden Meghoma - 4
Looked out of his depth, and looks like an 19-year-old playing his first senior minutes - which he largely is. No lack of effort, and this experience will benefit in the future, but an untested teenager is not what Rangers or Danny Rohl really need right now. Taken off at half-time as part of a tactical switch. | PA Photo: PA

7. Connor Barron - 5
The Gladiator theme played before the team entered the pitch, and Barron tried to take on the main role by thundering into a good, strong challenge early on, drawing a cheer from the crowd and setting the tone for a combative performance, but he was fighting a losing battle. Didn't see much of the ball due to Roma's dominance. | PA Photo: PA

8. Nicolas Raskin - 5
An unusually quiet night for the Belgian, who struggled to assert himself in the game in the first-half. Improved a little in the second-half, and went close with a long-range drive as Rangers looked to mount an unlikely comeback. | PA Photo: PA
