It’s the question on everyone lips, in pubs and WhatsApp chats across the land - what should the Scotland team be against Denmark on Tuesday night?
The Scots have to beat the Danes at Hampden to finish top of Group C and advance directly to next summer’s World Cup finals in USA, Mexico and Canada.
Should they draw or lose, then Scotland will have to navigate two play-offs next March to secure their place.
Our chief football writer Alan Pattullo picks his team that he reckons will get the job done in Glasgow.

1. Craig Gordon
Furious with himself for letting Christos Tzolis’ long-distance effort fly through his outstretched hands as Greece went 3-0 up on Saturday night but otherwise could not be faulted especially given it was his first match since May. | Getty Images

2. Aaron Hickey
Replaced late on against Greece and might be one of those Steve Clarke was referring to when he stated afterwards that he needed to receive fitness updates from the medical team. The Brentford player being unavailable doesn’t bear thinking about. | Getty Images

3. John Souttar
At fault for Greece’s opener when the ball sailed over his head after he misjudged a bounce. Not one of his better games but is more mobile than Grant Hanley, which might mean Clarke sticks with Souttar and opts to change his centre half partner if looking to buttress the backline. | Getty Images

4. Scott McKenna
In every double header so far in this campaign, Clarke has opted to bring McKenna in for Hanley for the second game, both of which were Belarus when the manager knew Scotland would have a lot of the ball. Might he do so again? Denmark are of course a different proposition. It’s a huge call but Hanley struggled against the fleet-footed Greeks and even when the big powerful forward Andrews Tetteh came on was left for dead by the debutant in the run-up to Greece’s second goal. McKenna is more mobile and has better distribution. | Getty Images
