Scotland are looking for a new head coach for the first time in seven years after Steve Clarke resigned on Sunday morning.
Clarke called time on his seven-year tenure in the wake of Scotland’s exit from the World Cup being confirmed.
His decision now leaves the Scottish Football Association with the task of finding a new manager - a month after Clarke had renewed his contract until the summer of 2030.
Scotland are not back in action until the September Nations League campaign, where they face Switzerland, Slovenia and North Macedonia.
We take a look at some of the early candidates who are being mooted to replace Clarke by the bookmakers (odds quoted by Skybet, please gamble responsibly):

9. Steven Naismith
The ex-Hearts head coach was a successful Scotland player and has been assistant boss to Steve Clarke. Could be tempted to make the step up if asked. Odds: 15/2 | Getty Images

10. Steven Gerrard
Would be a controversial choice for some given he was capped 114 times by England. Guided Rangers to the Premiership title in 2021 and has been out of work since leaving Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia last year, where he worked with current Scotland defender Jack Hendry. Came close to rejoining Rangers last October. Odds: 7/1 | Getty Images

11. Alex Neil
Took Millwall to the Championship play-off this season and the 45-year-old has vast experience of managing Hamilton Accies, Norwich City, Preston, Sunderland and Stoke. May still fancy another crack at the Premier League. Odds: 5/1 | Getty Images

12. Ange Postecoglou
A treble winner with Celtic, the Australian also took Tottenham to Europa League glory. Didn't fare well in the EPL with them or Nottingham Forest, where he was sacked after 39 days. Hasn't been in management since. Currently a pundit at the World Cup and has international experience of being in charge of Socceroos. One of the better-qualified candidates.
