Scotland are looking for a new head coach for the first time in seven years after Steve Clarke resigned on Sunday morning.
Clarke called time on his seven-year tenure in the wake of Scotland’s exit from the World Cup being confirmed.
His decision now leaves the Scottish Football Association with the task of finding a new manager - a month after Clarke had renewed his contract until the summer of 2030.
Scotland are not back in action until the September Nations League campaign, where they face Switzerland, Slovenia and North Macedonia.
We take a look at some of the early candidates who are being mooted to replace Clarke by the bookmakers (odds quoted by Skybet, please gamble responsibly):

1. Duncan Ferguson
The seven-cap former Scotland striker hasn't been in management since leaving Inverness in 2024. Has been working as a pundit at the World Cup for ITV. Odds: 16/1. | Getty Images

2. Russell Martin
The former Rangers head coach has just taken the reins at Leicester City, meaning it is very unlikely he is going to jump ship to Scotland. His spell at Ibrox was ill-fated. Odds: 14/1 | Getty Images

3. Neil Lennon
Currently at Dunfermline Athletic, he led the Pars to last season's Scottish Cup final. Decorated management career at Celtic and has also been in charge at Hibs. Has been loosely linked with the Scotland job in the past. Odds: 12/1 | Getty Images

4. Shaun Maloney
A former Scotland forward, Maloney was confirmed as part of Martin O'Neill's Celtic backroom team earlier this week. A well-regarded coach who has managed Hibs and Wigan. Worked with the Belgium national team under Roberto Martinez. Odds: 11/1 | Getty Images
