Celtic’s transfer business during both the summer and winter window was some of their most intriguing yet, with record breaking deals and major departures at the forefront.
A full 16 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, the additions of Arne Engels, Jota and Adam Idah have so far proven sound additions, with Brendan Rodgers’ side suffering just two domestic defeats all season. With the Scottish League Cup already in the bag, Celtic are favourites to complete yet another domestic treble under Rodgers.
There’s been clear progress in Europe too, with a strong run in the Champions League only halted by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who Celtic pushed into the final seconds of their last 16 playoff.
That said, despite the team’s on field success, the 2024/25 campaign has resulted in several fan favourites moving onto pastures new, with Kyogo Furuhashi and Matt O’Riley becoming big name departures in both windows, much to the dismay of the Celtic Park faithful.
It wasn’t just Furuhashi and O’Riley that departed though, with fringe players such as Odin Thiago Holm, Benjamin Siegrist and Stephen Welsh all making moves away from the east end of Glasgow throughout the campaign.
But how have each of Celtic’s 20 departing players fared for their new clubs so far this season?

9. Benjamin Siegrist - Rapid Bucuresti
Signed as a back-up to Joe Hart by Ange Postecoglou in 2021, the Swiss goalkeeper barely had a look in during his time in Glasgow. Taken to Rapid Bucuresti by Neil Lennon in the summer, the ex-Celtic and Hibs boss was sacked after just six games. Like Lennon, Siegrist has departed Rapid already after he was snapped up on a loan deal by Serie A outfit Genoa in January, though he's yet to play a minute for the Italian side. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

10. Hyun-Gyu Oh - Genk
Won the title with Celtic last season, and is now on course for the same in Belgium with Genk. Struggled upon arrival at the club, but has found his feet in the last couple months, where he has proven to be an effective option of the bench. Has started just twice in the Belgian Pro League, but has scored five goals for his new team. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

11. Kyogo Furuhashi - Rennes
It's been a baptism of fire for ex-Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi since moving to Rennes. His manager Jorge Sampaoli was sacked just days after the Japanese striker's arrival with the club languishing in 13th place, while Furuhashi has started just once for his new club. | AFP via Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

12. Luis Palma - Olympiacos (loan)
After struggling for game time at Celtic Park, the Honduran winger made a loan move to Conference League champions Olympiacos in January. The Greeks currently hold a two point lead over AEK Athens at the top of the Super League. Palma has featured in all three games since his arrival, but is yet to score or assist for his new club. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
