Celtic’s transfer business during both the summer and winter window was some of their most intriguing yet, with record breaking deals and major departures at the forefront.
A full 16 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, the additions of Arne Engels, Jota and Adam Idah have so far proven sound additions, with Brendan Rodgers’ side suffering just two domestic defeats all season. With the Scottish League Cup already in the bag, Celtic are favourites to complete yet another domestic treble under Rodgers.
There’s been clear progress in Europe too, with a strong run in the Champions League only halted by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who Celtic pushed into the final seconds of their last 16 playoff.
That said, despite the team’s on field success, the 2024/25 campaign has resulted in several fan favourites moving onto pastures new, with Kyogo Furuhashi and Matt O’Riley becoming big name departures in both windows, much to the dismay of the Celtic Park faithful.
It wasn’t just Furuhashi and O’Riley that departed though, with fringe players such as Odin Thiago Holm, Benjamin Siegrist and Stephen Welsh all making moves away from the east end of Glasgow throughout the campaign.
But how have each of Celtic’s 20 departing players fared for their new clubs so far this season?

13. Odin Thiago Holm - LAFC (loan)
The Norwegian joined the MLS outfit on loan during the January transfer window, ahead of their new season beginning last weekend. Calf problems have prevented him from playing for his new side though, who have started the season with two wins in their first two games. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

14. Marco Tilio - Melbourne City (loan)
The young Australian endured a nightmare spell with injury, which restricted his involvement with Melbourne City in the early part of the campaign. He's returned with a bang though, bagging the opening goal in the entertaining 2-2 derby draw with Melbourne Victory last week. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

15. Sead Haksabanovic - Malmö FF
The Montenegro winger departed Celtic Park in the summer after falling out of favour with Brendan Rodgers, moving to Allsvenskan outfit Malmö. His spell in Sweden has started in terrible fashion though, with a groin injury he suffered in August ruling him out for the season. 16. Stephen Welsh - KV Mechelen (loan)
After failing to dislodge any of Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty and Liam Scales, the Scottish centre-back opted to take his chance in the Belgian Pro League with KV Mechelen. Just two points above the relegation spots, Welsh has sadly found game time hard to come by at his new club. Has started just one of the club's last four games. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
