Celtic’s transfer business during both the summer and winter window was some of their most intriguing yet, with record breaking deals and major departures at the forefront.
A full 16 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, the additions of Arne Engels, Jota and Adam Idah have so far proven sound additions, with Brendan Rodgers’ side suffering just two domestic defeats all season. With the Scottish League Cup already in the bag, Celtic are favourites to complete yet another domestic treble under Rodgers.
There’s been clear progress in Europe too, with a strong run in the Champions League only halted by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who Celtic pushed into the final seconds of their last 16 playoff.
That said, despite the team’s on field success, the 2024/25 campaign has resulted in several fan favourites moving onto pastures new, with Kyogo Furuhashi and Matt O’Riley becoming big name departures in both windows, much to the dismay of the Celtic Park faithful.
It wasn’t just Furuhashi and O’Riley that departed though, with fringe players such as Odin Thiago Holm, Benjamin Siegrist and Stephen Welsh all making moves away from the east end of Glasgow throughout the campaign.
But how have each of Celtic’s 20 departing players fared for their new clubs so far this season?

5. Mikey Johnston - West Bromwich Albion
The winger was very impressive on loan to the Baggies last year, resulting in them stumping up a reported fee of £2.5million to bring him to the club permanently in the summer. With Carlos Corberan leaving to join Valencia in December, the Irishman currently finds himself playing for ex-Celtic head coach Tony Mowbray at the Hawthorns. While he's not quite hit the heights of his loan spell, Johnston is a regular for West Brom and has seven goal contributions for the promotion chasing side. | Cameron Smith Photo: Cameron Smith

6. Tomoki Iwata - Birmingham City
The Japanese midfielder has been a revelation for the EFL League One table toppers, becoming one of the first names on the team sheet at St Andrews. Has bagged a couple of goal of the season contenders and is set to play at Wembley in the EFL Trophy final for the Blues next month as he goes in search of a domestic double with his new side. | AFP via Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

7. Gustaf Lagerbielke - FC Twente (loan)
The Swedish defender struggled to impress at Celtic Park and was given an opportunity to get regular first team football in the Eredivisie. After struggling to break into the team on arrival, the centre-back has began to feature regularly for the Dutch outfit, starting all 14 of the club's last games in all competitions. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

8. Matt O'Riley - Brighton
Became Celtic's record sale when he joined Brighton for £26m in the summer, but suffered an injury just minutes into his debut. Scored a memorable late winner against Manchester City on his return to fitness, but has yet to make the impact he'd have liked, starting just five games for the Seagulls in the English Premier League. | Paul Hazlewood Photo: Paul Hazlewood
