Daizen Maeda scored an early double as Celtic moved into the Premier Sports Cup quarter-finals with a 3-1 victory over Hibs.
Mykola Kuharevich pulled a goal back for Hibs before half-time, but the visitors paid the price for a poor attempt to play the ball out from the back as Nicolas Kuhn restored Celtic’s two-goal lead.
Maeda started up front as a stand-in striker after Japan team-mate Kyogo Furuhashi dropped out with the shoulder injury he suffered during Celtic’s 2-0 win over Hibs the previous weekend. Adam Idah started on the bench following his big-money move from Norwich.
We give each player a mark out of ten for their performance at Parkhead.

13. Matt O'Riley - 7
Not much came off for the in-demand midfielder in terms of his final ball but his link-up play alongside Hatate and McGregor in the Celtic midfield triumvirate was a joy to watch. | SNS Group

14. Nathan Moriah-Welsh - 4
Was naive to pick up a booking inside two minutes that left him walking a tightrope. A non-existent presence thereafter as Celtic rang rings around him and the rest of the Hibs midfield. Hooked at half-time. | SNS Group

15. Reo Hatate - 9
The Japanese midfielder was a standout. A real creative force with an assist on the opener, and also produced the pass of the match to put Matt O'Riley in behind. Looking back to his best. A Rolls Royce performance. | SNS Group

16. Joe Newell - 5
A game which largely passed the Hibs captain by. Put in a shift but unable to get enough possession on the ball to exert any real influence. | SNS Group
