After what is probably the greatest political comeback in American history, Donald Trump has moved into the White House for the second time.
President Trump’s second inauguration took place on Monday, January 20, weeks after his landslide win over Kamala Harris, who attended the ceremony with outgoing President Joe Biden.
The new Leader of the Free World, whose mother comes from Scotland and who owns two Scottish golf courses, made many promises to his supporters on the campaign trail.
And he’s started to deliver on day one, signing a slew of executive orders which indicate the direction he will be taking over the next four years.
Here are 15 of the main ones - and what they mean for America and the world.

9. A potential clear-out of federal workers
President Trump has ordered that thousands of federal workers be reclassified as political hires. The reasaon is simple - it makes them much easier to fire. It's something he unsuccessfully attempted before and will presumably lead to those employees considered to have left wing leanings being replaced by conservatives loyal to the Republical party. | Getty Images

10. A recruitment freeze and an end to working from home.
The American Federal Government is the country's biggest employer - with a head count of around two million workers. The returning President has now ordered a complete hiring freeze, told federal employees that working from home will no longer be permitted, and warned that they have to return to the office. It's expected to be a precursor to job cuts under Elon Musk's so-called Department of Government Efficiency (Doge). | Getty Images

11. No let up in the death penalty
Indicating his continued support of the death penalty (Trump was critical of President Beden's decision to communte the death sentence of 37 prisoners in December) the new American President has ordered that states carrying out the death penalty ensure they have a “sufficient supply” of lethal injection drugs so there are no delays to executions. | Getty Images

12. Declaring a National Energy Emergency
"Drill, baby, drill", was President Trump's battle cry on announcing a National Energy Emergency. It will potentially mean restoring gas exports and scrapping restrictions on oil exploration, including in the wilderness of Alaska. This is another executive order expected to face numerous legal challenges. | Getty Images
