The team from The Glenturret Lalique restaurant will appear on the BBC’s professional cooking programme.

The Glenturret Lalique Restaurant executive chef Mark Donald and his team played host to the highly anticipated semi-final skills test in week 18 of MasterChef: The Professionals, welcoming some of the UK’s most talented chefs to compete at one of Scotland’s Two Michelin Star restaurants.

Known for his refined, produce-led cooking and exacting standards, Mark Donald designed a challenge that tested technical precision, creativity, and composure under pressure.

Speaking about the experience, Mark Donald said: “It was a privilege to welcome MasterChef: The Professionals to The Glenturret.

“At this stage of the competition, the margins are incredibly fine. We wanted to create a challenge that truly reflected the level of discipline, respect for ingredients, and technical focus required in a Michelin-starred kitchen.”

The semi-final skills test demanded accuracy, restraint, and an ability to execute complex techniques flawlessly - qualities that define Mark’s culinary philosophy and the standards upheld daily at The Glenturret Lalique Restaurant.

Hosting the programme marks a significant moment not only for the restaurant but for Scotland’s hospitality sector. The episode shines a spotlight on the country’s exceptional produce, craftsmanship, and growing influence within the global fine dining scene.

John Laurie, managing director said: “To see The Glenturret and Mark Donald featured at such a pivotal stage in the series is a testament to Mark, the team’s dedication and the journey we have been on to have implemented a Two Michelin fine dining concept here at The Glenturret distillery – the first of its kind. It is a proud moment for us and for Scottish hospitality.”

The episode will air on BBC One on Thursday 19 March bringing viewers behind the scenes of one of Scotland’s most prestigious kitchens.
