This week sees a fresh batch of candidates compete to win a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar in the 20th series of the long-running BBC show The Apprentice.
First broadcast in the UK in February 2005, following the success of the American version featuring a certain Donald J. Trump, The Apprentice is one of the Beeb’s most successful shows.
Originally aired on BBC 2 it soon made the transition to BBC One, as viewers became hooked on the tasks set by Amstrad founder Lord Sugar.
Season 20 of the show will launch on Thursday, January 29, at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
And the first episode will see the boardroom held in Hong Kong - with Baroness Karren Brady and former winner Tim Campbell advising Lord Sugar on the suitability of the candidates.
The last entrepreneur standing will receive a cool quarter-of-a-million pound investment, along with mentorship from Lord Sugar himself.

13. Harry Clough
"I may sound posh, but I’ve got no dosh - and that’s why I’m here to make it. What makes me unique? I’m the perfect mix of serious ambition and self-aware humour. I take my work seriously but I never take myself too seriously. I’ve learned that a bit of personality goes a long way in business. I’m creative, resilient, and not afraid to fail, in fact, I’ve probably failed more than most candidates. But every setback has taught me something new and made me sharper, tougher, and more determined to succeed." | BBC

14. Kieran McCartney
"My 10 years’ as an estate agent have equipped me with a strong set of distinctive sales skills that truly make me stand out. My experience has taught me how to communicate effectively, understand clients’ needs, and tailor my approach to every situation. This personalised style not only helps me close deals but also allows me to build long-lasting relationships. As a result, many of my clients return to me year after year, demonstrating the value of the trust and rapport I create." | BBC

15. Georgina Newton
"I have this magic to my personality, this sunshine that brightens up a room and turns any negative situation into something positive. I manage to bring out the best in those around me by lifting them, building confidence, making people smile and making sure everyone knows that they are enough just as they are. All anyone needs is to believe that they can do anything! I am a leader that always leads with kindness, and I truly don’t think anyone like me has ever been a part of the process." | BBC

16. Conor Galvin
"What makes me unique is the road I took to get here. I went to university to study medicine, dropped out twice, and even after graduating in law and business, I still wasn’t sure what direction I was meant to go in. Building my business changed that. It gave me confidence, purpose and a place where my energy and creativity finally made sense. I’m not a traditional corporate candidate, and I’m not trying to be. My work is fun and original, but behind it I’m someone who bounces back fast, thinks creatively and isn’t afraid to show personality." | BBC
