This week sees a fresh batch of candidates compete to win a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar in the 20th series of the long-running BBC show The Apprentice.
First broadcast in the UK in February 2005, following the success of the American version featuring a certain Donald J. Trump, The Apprentice is one of the Beeb’s most successful shows.
Originally aired on BBC 2 it soon made the transition to BBC One, as viewers became hooked on the tasks set by Amstrad founder Lord Sugar.
Season 20 of the show will launch on Thursday, January 29, at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
And the first episode will see the boardroom held in Hong Kong - with Baroness Karren Brady and former winner Tim Campbell advising Lord Sugar on the suitability of the candidates.
The last entrepreneur standing will receive a cool quarter-of-a-million pound investment, along with mentorship from Lord Sugar himself.
We’ve already taken a look at their all-important business plans and why they think they deserve the cash

17. Dan Miller
"I started out at 17 from my bedroom in Derby with the idea. I had no business connections, no experience but a drive and passion to change the way students heard about and had access to opportunities. I started from nothing but an idea in school, which has grown to become one of the UK’s largest student networks. Having had almost 10 years’ experience in the student recruitment industry many students, schools, and employers look to us an authoritative figure in navigating this market." | BBC

18. Carrington Saunders
"I am a unique candidate because my business vastly relies on social media, and Lord Sugar hasn't had a business partner who is enveloped so heavily in social media. My business is already up, running and profitable - Lord Sugar will be entering a new sector of business with me." | BBC

19. Karishma Vijay
"I’m here for the investment and to find a business partner, not as a fan. I’m likely the only candidate in The Apprentice history that has not been a committed viewer. This may seem like a disadvantage due to having a limited idea of what to expect, but I don’t intend on being as predictable as the other candidates who have studied the process through and through. I come from generations of businessmen yet I’m the very first businesswoman of my bloodline - the black sheep. And I have every intention of winning this by being exactly who I am." | BBC

20. Andrea Cooper
"I'm 46, a mother of five, grandmother of one and manage and run effectively two businesses in Barnsley. I successfully achieved a midwifery first class honours degree when I was 40, whilst juggling two businesses and running a family. I am hard working, resilient and will give anything a go." | BBC
