After months of speculation it has been confirmed that the TRNSMT music festival will be returning to Glasgow Green next year.
There had been rumours that T in the Park could return in its place, but instead the event is just being planned for slightly earlier in the year than usual - from June 19-21 rather than its traditional mid-July slot.
TRNSMT has taken place in Glasgow since 2017, when Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro topped the bill and is, by quite some distance, Scotland’s largest event of its kind.

It was a replacement for the much-missed T in the Park, bringing the music into the city centre to negate the need for camping.
Since then the likes of Queen, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, and Pulp have graced the stage - with local heroes Lewis Capaldi and Gerry Cinnamon cutting their teeth on the smaller stages.
This year saw 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro and Snow Patrol headline, and now the dates have been confirmed speculation is growing over who will perform.
Organisers have remained tight-lipped so far, simply saying: “Ticketing and lineup announcements will be coming soon.”
Here are 17 acts we reckon could fit the bill, from local favourites to international superstars.

13. Drake
50 Cent's set this year proved that TRNSMT are open to hip hop headliners so Drake is a real possibility. He may have come off second best in his beef with Kendrick Lamar but there's no doubt he's still a rapper that's more than capable of headlining any festival on the planet - he closed London's Wireless Festival this year on all three days. His ninth studio album, entitled 'Iceman' is out later this year so he'll be looking to tour in 2026. | Getty Images

14. The Strokes
They've already been announced for next year's Coachella, so it looks like New York alt-rockers The Strokes could be playing a fair number of festival gigs next year. They last played TRNSMT in 2022, headlining the Main Stage on the Saturday. | Getty Images

15. Frank Ocean
It's been four years since Frank Ocean released 'Blonde' and it's heavily rumoured that his followup, perhaps titled 'FO5', will be released at the end of 2025. He'll be presumably touring it and may favour festival slots over a solo tour in Europe. He's never played TRNSMT, but was at T in the Park way back in 2013. | AFP via Getty Images

16. The Cure
The Cure have already been announced as headliners for Barcelona's Primavera and the Isle of Wight festivals so will clearly be on the festival trail next year. Robert Smith clearly had fun guesting with Olivia Rodrigo at this year's Glastonbury and his band would be a popular choice for TRNSMT. The band last played Glasgow in 2022 when they played a hit-packed set at the OVO Hydro. They have announced a 'Summer Sessions'' gig for Edinburgh but that's already sold out, so fans would clearly love another chance to see them. | Getty Images
