After months of speculation it has been confirmed that the TRNSMT music festival will be returning to Glasgow Green next year.
There had been rumours that T in the Park could return in its place, but instead the event is just being planned for slightly earlier in the year than usual - from June 19-21 rather than its traditional mid-July slot.
TRNSMT has taken place in Glasgow since 2017, when Radiohead, Kasabian and Biffy Clyro topped the bill and is, by quite some distance, Scotland’s largest event of its kind.

It was a replacement for the much-missed T in the Park, bringing the music into the city centre to negate the need for camping.
Since then the likes of Queen, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, and Pulp have graced the stage - with local heroes Lewis Capaldi and Gerry Cinnamon cutting their teeth on the smaller stages.
This year saw 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro and Snow Patrol headline, and now the dates have been confirmed speculation is growing over who will perform.
Organisers have remained tight-lipped so far, simply saying: “Ticketing and lineup announcements will be coming soon.”
Here are 17 acts we reckon could fit the bill, from local favourites to international superstars.

9. Muse
It has been 15 years since Muse headlined T in the Park 2020 - the third time they had played the festival. The timings for a debut at TRMSMT could work for 2026 - they revealed new single 'Unravelling' in June and are expected to release their tenth studio album in the first half of next year. It'd certainly promise to be a spectacular show, with Matt Bellamy not known for his low-key performances. There will be drones! | Getty Images for iHeartRadio

10. Sabrina Carpenter
If the TRNSMT bookers want to have an all-out pop headliner then there are few bigger names in the world of music at the moment than superstar Sabrina Carpenter. She headlined Primavera last year, has a new album out in the shape of 'Man's Best Friend' and has already confirmed for Coachella 2026. She's yet to play an outdoor gig in Scotland so next year could just be the year. | Getty Images for MTV

11. Deftones
Fearsome rock band Deftones already have a Glasgow date set for next year at the OVO Hydro but that doesn't mean they can't also play TRNSMT - both Fontaines DC and Snow Patrol played both veunues in 2025. They have a well-received new album in 'Private Music' and have proven that they can headline by taking top billing at the Download Festival. | AFP via Getty Images

12. Blink-182
Few bands do pop-punk quite as well as Blink-182. They've already started confirming a few festival headline slots in America for 2026, so if they wanted to pop over to the other side of the Atlantic then TRNSMT would surely be attractive. | Getty Images,
