Scotland is home to some of the world's most-renowned tourist attractions with picturesque landscapes and historic buildings on the bucket lists of tourists around the globe.
As Tripadvisor reviews attest, these Scottish tourist attractions showcase some of the best the country has to offer. But what happens when a visit goes horribly wrong?
While browsing some of Scotland’s most highly-rated and dearly-loved tourist spots, we unearthed some hilarious 1-star reviews that put a smile on our faces.
From Ibrox Stadium to Arthur’s Seat, here are 10 Scottish tourist attractions with hilarious 1-star reviews on TripAdvisor.

9. Dunnottar Castle - Stonehaven
While only four of nearly 3,000 reviews claim this to be worthy of only one-star, those who weren't happy with their experience of the iconic ruined medieval fortress left some rather humorous reviews. A four-star tourist attraction? "Ambitious!" said one reviewer. Another said they were disappointed to see it was "just a ruin" while a third visitor was incensed that the castle has no decent parking. | Getty Images

10. The Kelpies - Falkirk
This stunning sight is a man-made wonder and a feat of engineering that can be found in Falkirk. The Kelpies have largely positive reviews, but not everyone was so impressed. One reviewer was left fuming with the "grass being too long" in surrounding areas and another claimed "it is just two horses heads in a field." On one level, they aren't wrong, though perhaps they're understating the 100ft sculptures a little. | AFP via Getty Images
