Scotland signed off their Autumn Nations Series campaign and 2024 in style with a convincing 27-13 win over Australia.
In front of a sold-out crowd at Murrayfield, Gregor Townsend’s team were too strong for the Wallabies, putting in a stellar defensive shift and scoring four excellent tries via captain Sione Tuipulotu, Duhan van der Merwe, Josh Bayliss and Finn Russell, who also added seven points from the boot.
The victory sits alongside two comprehensive triumphs over Fiji and Portugal, with the only defeat in the Series coming against world champions South Africa.
Townsend and Co will now look forward to the start of the Six Nations in February, with Scotland’s opener coming at Murrayfield against Italy.
We give the Scottish players a mark out of ten for their performance at Murrayfield against the Wallabies.

14. Darcy Graham
The little winger was unfortunate not to latch on to a kick from Finn Russell to score, and was even seen winning a turnover penalty at the other end of the pitch. His jinking burst set up the try for Josh Bayliss and his pace was a problem for Australia throughout. 8 | SNS Group / SRU

15. Blair Kinghorn
Started off slowly and was guilty of not giving a pass to set Duhan van der Merwe free in the first half. Absolutely ignited in the second period, playing a nice pop pass to set up Ben White before setting up Van der Merwe for his try. Grew in confidence thereafter and sliced through the Australian rearguard, setting up Finn Russell for the clinching third. Almost unplayable when in the mood. 9 | SNS Group

16. Scotland replacements
Josh Bayliss (above) was the pick of the subs, showing a good turn of foot to score his try. Dylan Richardson, Will Hurd and Rory Sutherland replenished the front row, while Alex Craig was also called upon at lock. | SNS Group / SRU
