Scotland signed off their Autumn Nations Series campaign and 2024 in style with a convincing 27-13 win over Australia.
In front of a sold-out crowd at Murrayfield, Gregor Townsend’s team were too strong for the Wallabies, putting in a stellar defensive shift and scoring four excellent tries via captain Sione Tuipulotu, Duhan van der Merwe, Josh Bayliss and Finn Russell, who also added seven points from the boot.
The victory sits alongside two comprehensive triumphs over Fiji and Portugal, with the only defeat in the Series coming against world champions South Africa.
Townsend and Co will now look forward to the start of the Six Nations in February, with Scotland’s opener coming at Murrayfield against Italy.
We give the Scottish players a mark out of ten for their performance at Murrayfield against the Wallabies.

9. Ben White
Neat and tidy at the breakdown. His big moment came when he was flattened by Tom Wright when trying to race on to a chip. The incident sparked debate - was he fouled or should he have done more to evade the statuesque Australian, who did drop the shoulder. 7 | AFP via Getty Images

10. Finn Russell
Clearly targeted by the Australians, he took some big hits. Had the last laugh with his try to put the game to bed. His kicking was a little scrappy, missing two attempts at goal he would normally convert. 7 | SNS Group / SRU

11. Duhan van der Merwe
Chalked up his 30th try for Scotland to move back into the outright lead in the all-time scorer stakes ahead of Darcy Graham, picking up a nice pass from Blair Kinghorn. Did not see many opportunities but made sure the big moment was taken. 8 | SNS Group

12. Sione Tuipulotu
The captain will no doubt have enjoyed his try - Scotland's opener - against the country of his birth. Led the team with his energy and had some banter with the Wallabies. Stood firm when targeted by a no-hands tackle from Joseph-Aukuso Suaalli that ended up injuring the Aussie. 8 | SNS Group
