Scotland were edged out by New Zealand once again after losing 25-17 to the All Blacks in a gripping match at Murrayfield.
Scotland trailed 17-0 at the interval as the visitors - despite having Leroy Carter yellow-carded - threatened to run away with a win after tries from Cam Roigard and Will Jordan.
It was to Scotland’s immense credit that they rallied after the break and the score was pegged back to 17-17 on the hour mark after tries from Ewan Ashman and Kyle Steyn and seven points from Finn Russell.
The All Blacks, however, showed why the are one of the best teams in the world and a try and penalty from replacement Damian McKenzie late on put the game out of Scotland’s reach.
It means Scotland’s wait for a win over New Zealand goes on, with the record now two draws and 31 defeats against the All Blacks.
We give the players a mark out of ten for their performance.

1. Pierre Schoeman
Usual brute strength in the Scotland front row. A couple of bone-crunching carries. Came off for Sutherland midway through second half but then had to return due to an injury. 6 | SNS Group / SRU

2. Ewan Ashman
The hooker was accurate with his throws at the line-out. Always a menace in the loose, he landed Scotland's first try on 46 minutes. He and Cummings failed to stop Lord driving through middle of ruck for opening try. 6 | SNS Group / SRU

3. D'arcy Rae
A lot was made of him playing tight-head with Zander Fagerson injured, but the pop played very well. The Scottish scrum largely held its own. Key tackle to stop New Zealand bursting through when 7-0 down, although required medical treatment thereafter. Emptied the tank before coming off on 56 minutes. 7 | SNS Group / SRU

4. Scott Cummings
Culpable alongside Ashman for the first try but put that behind him to drive on the forwards. 6 | SNS Group / SRU
