Scotland’s 2024 Six Nations campaign ended in defeat after going down 17-13 against Ireland in Dublin.
Gregor Townsend’s men put up a brave fight against one of the best teams in the world but eventually caved in to incessant Irish pressure in the second half, with tries from Dan Sheehan and Andrew Porter allowing the Irish to retain their title.
Scotland set up a grandstand finish of their own with a late Huw Jones try, but it was not enough in the end.
Here are the player ratings from Scotland’s last match of the campaign:

5. Scott Cummings
Huge tackling effort from the second row who set the tone with an early confrontation. Started all five of Scotland’s Six Nations games to re-establish himself in the side. Sam Skinner took over for the final nine minutes. 7 Photo: Brian Lawless

6. Andy Christie
Scotland’s best player. Made try-saving intervention when he tackled Calvin Nash a yard out during Scotland’s torrid start to the second half. An all-action performance and set the tone when he charged down a James Lowe kick in the fourth minute which took the Scots close to the Irish line. 8 Photo: Brian Lawless

7. Rory Darge
Was involved in a bruising back-row battle with Josh van der Flyer, Peter O’Mahony and Caelan Doris and held his own. Lasted 61 minutes before giving way to Glasgow team-mate Matt Fagerson. 6 Photo: Brian Lawless

8. Jack Dempsey
Was Scotland’s most effective attacker and official stats show he made 12 carries, the most of any player in dark blue. Stout in defence too and, like Gilchrist, played the full 80. 8 Photo: Brian Lawless
