Premier Sports Cup semi-final dates, times and ticket prices as Rangers, Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen sent update

Rangers face Aberdeen and it’s an Edinburgh derby when Hearts face Hibs at Hampden for a place in the tournament’s showpiece match this December. It’s been confirmed by the broadcaster who will screen both matches live that Derek McInnes’ tussle with the Dons - managed by Stephen Robinson who won the competition with St Mirren last season - will take place on Halloween with a 5:30pm kick-off in Mount Florida.

Edinburgh rivalries are renewed a day later to kick off November with a bang, scheduled for 3pm, to see who meets the winner of Rangers vs Aberdeen in December. Tickets for both semi-finals are priced at £32 to £39 for adults, with concessions costing between £17 and £21.

What happened in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final matches?

Quarter-final weekend kicked off with Hearts defeating Stenhousemuir 3-0 thanks to JJ Williams, Rogers Mato and Yan Dhanda goals.

Hibs booked their passage by sweeping Ross County aside by the same scoreline. Thibault Klidje, Adam Mayor and Ante Suto all struck, before Aberdeen did things the hard way by beating Kilmarnock on penalties, following a 1-1 draw after extra-time. They were reduced to 10 men after Dan Happe’s red card, Kevin Nisbet having initially put them in front, before Tyreece John-Jules leveller.

Shootout success was claimed by a 3-1 scoreline and Rangers ended the last eight shake-up by dominating Celtic 3-0. Dan Neil’s double and a Kevin Kelsy strike sealed Old Firm joy for the Ibrox side who are back in league action against their rivals this Sunday at Parkhead.

Hearts and Hibs both lost midweek as they played their games in hand following Conference League qualifiers, losing 2-1 and 1-0 to Falkirk and Kilmarnock respectively. Aberdeen meanwhile routed Motherwell 4-0 at Fir Park in an outstanding display to secure their first league away win this calendar year.
