The African Cup of Nations gets underway in Morocco this month - meaning several Scottish Premiership teams will see their squads depleted during a tough Christmas schedule.
Set to begin on Sunday, 21 December 2025 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, tournament hosts Morocco will face off against Comoros in the opening match. The competition will run for almost exactly a month, with the final set to be held at the same stadium on Sunday, 18 January 2026.
But which current - and former - Scottish Premiership players will be taking part in the tournament?

6. Calvin Bassey - Nigeria
Rangers' record sale when he joined Ajax for a fee of £25million in 2022, the pacey defender is now starring for Fulham in the English Premier League. A fan favourite at Craven Cottage, they'll be forced to do without him for anywhere up to a month after he was selected in the Nigeria squad for AFCON. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

7. Jordan Obita - Uganda

8. Cyriel Dessers - Nigeria
One of two former Scottish Premiership stars picked for Nigeria, ex-Rangers hitman Dessers is named among the strikers in Eric Chelle's squad for the tournament. However, there is no place for fellow ex-Ger Joe Aribo, who has 34 international caps but has fallen down the pecking order. | Andrew Milligan Photo: Andrew Milligan
