Scotland’s Euro 2024 campaign came to a crushing end on Sunday night when they were defeated 1-0 by Hungary in Stuttgart.
As a result, the Scots finish bottom of Group A on one point and despite the Tartan Army being lauded for their support in Germany, the team ultimately failed in its quest to reach the knock-out stages of a major tournament for the first time.
We take a look at how each player - and head coach Steve Clarke - performed during their time in the competition.

9. Scott McTominay
One of Scotland's better players. Scored the goal against the Swiss and was a colossus in that match, doing excellent work in attack and defence. Never stopped working and was unfortunate to pick up a booking against Hungary that would have ruled him out of a potential last-16 tie. He remains one of Scotland's most likely outlets for a goal. 7 | Getty Images

10. Was given the nod ahead of Billy Gilmour in the opener but ended up playing as a striker once Scotland were down to ten men. Dropped back to the bench to play cameo roles in the remaining matches. Never really got a chance to excel in any of the three ties. 4

11. Billy Gilmour
His stock inadvertently rose by not starting against the Germans, and there was a huge clamour for him to be reinstated against the Swiss. His one lovely flick set Scotland on their way to the opening goal in that match but that was his best moment of the Euros. Always comfortable in possession, he was never able to spark an attack of serious note, not helped by the paucity of options ahead of him. 5 | Getty Images

12. Callum McGregor
The Celtic captain started every match and was singled out by Graeme Souness for heavy criticism after the Germany match. A real maestro for his club, his powers wane on the international stage against the best teams. Tidy enough on the ball ever really influenced matches enough. 5 | Getty Images
