Rangers' start to the season under new manager Derek McInnes has been less than impressive, with just one point picked up from their opening two league games against Dundee United and Hibs.
Despite bringing in eight new arrivals this summer, the 55-year-old boss has been unable to reverse Rangers’ fortunes in the opening fortnight of the domestic season, already falling five points behind rivals and reigning champions Celtic.
As they approach a pivotal Europa League qualifier against Jagiellonia this week, the club are hoping to add further firepower to their ranks as they desperately try to turn the tide back in their favour and get their first win under the new boss. Following the 2-1 loss to Hibs at the weekend, McInnes admitted: “There's been a few names in the press over the last few days where I think that has been quite accurate. There's a lot of things that are ongoing at the minute.
“Before we even travelled to Poland the other day, we were hoping to try and land a couple of players. So, we're still in the process of trying to do that. But I think until we get things finalised and get things agreed with any player, it would probably be wrong of me to speak about that.”
But how would McInnes’ Rangers team look if the recent transfer rumours turn out to be accurate? Here, The Scotsman assess how Rangers starting XI could look come September 3:
