Rangers cut Hearts’ lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to just two points as they won a frantic game 4-2 at Ibrox on Sunday evening.
Already five points behind the Tynecastle outfit ahead of the game, and in third place following Celtic’s last-gasp 3-2 victory against Kilmarnock earlier in the day, the hosts went behind early in Glasgow after Marc Leonard seized on a slack pass from Emmanuel Fernandez to fire the visitors into a 16th-minute lead.
However, a Michael Steinwender own goal quickly restored parity just two minutes later, though Claudio Braga’s sublime header put Derek McInnes’ team back into the lead on the half-hour mark. The outstanding Youssef Chermiti smashed the home side level again five minutes before the break, and the Portuguese striker repeated the trick on 57 minutes when he connected to Andreas Skov Olsen’s pinpoint cross to bullet home Rangers’ third goal and completed his hat-trick when he finished off a breakaway in injury-time.
Here’s how The Scotsman rated the performance of each player as Rangers beat Hearts 4-2 at Ibrox.

21. Ryan Naderi (Rangers) - 7
Pressured Steinwnder well for the equalising goal, which came at the perfect time. A physical presence that asked questions of Hearts' backline. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

22. Claudio Braga (Hearts) - 8
Hearts' energy bunny caused Rangers problems all afternoon. Did well to lay it off to Leonard for the opening goal, while his header for Hearts' second goal was sublime forward play as he directed it beyond Butland. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

23. Rangers subs:
James Tavernier - 6 (An experienced head for the final half hour) Mohamed Diomande - 5 (Introduced as a late sub) Oliver Antman - 5 (Brought on late as Rangers looked to stretch the play) Djeidi Gassama - 7 (Played his part in the fourth goal) | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

24. Michael Steinwender (Hearts)
Michael Steinwender - 6 (Came on for McEntee early on, scored an own goal, and then delivered an outstanding cross for Hearts' second goal. A performance with both good and bad). Jordi Altena - 5 (Introduced at the break but didn't have much of an influence on the game) Pierre Landry Kabore - 4 (Pretty anonymous) Tomas Magnusson and Rogers Mato - N/A (Late sub) | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group
