Scotland fans have just 27 more days to wait until Steve Clarke’s side gets their World Cup campaign underway with a clash against Haiti in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
The first time Scotland has qualified for the World Cup since 1998, a generation of Tartan Army supporters are now counting down the days until the tournament begins in June. With Clarke’s 26-man squad set to be announced on Tuesday, the anticipation is reaching fever pitch.
While Scott McTominay, Andy Robertson and John McGinn can sleep soundly enough knowing they are virtually guaranteed a spot on the plane to the United States, several others face an anxious wait to discover if they’ve made the list.
Here, we look at 10 players sweating over a call-up to the Scotland World Cup squad:

5. Nathan Patterson - Everton
Since coming off the bench for Scotland in the 0-1 defeat to Ivory Coast, the right-back has played a grand total of one minute, as his struggle for regular first-team football continues at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. He's a player clearly trusted by Clarke, but having seen just 240 minutes of league action with Everton this season, his place is far from certain. | SNS Group

6. Kieron Bowie - Hellas Verona
The young striker hasn't been part of a Scotland squad since the qualification header against Belarus and Greece, despite making a £7million move to Serie A in January. With plenty of competition for the striking positions, Bowie will be sweating over his inclusion in the World Cup squad. | SNS Group

7. Andy Irving - Sparta Prague
Despite being part of several Scotland squads, Irving has yet to add to the sole cap he picked up against Liechtenstein last summer. With lots of competition for places in the engine room, Irving faces an anxious wait to discover if he's part of the squad. | SNS Group

8. Connor Barron - Rangers
Similar to Irving, the youngster faces serious competition for a spot in Scotland's midfield and has just one cap. Barron wasn't included in the squad for the March friendlies due to a knee injury, and he hasn't long returned from the problem, placing a potential squad place in serious doubt. | SNS Group
