So, who will be the next Scotland manager?
After three major tournaments and 2,597 days in charge, head coach Steve Clarke opted to step down upon his side’s failure to make the knockout stages of the World Cup this summer, and now all eyes are on the Scottish FA as they look for his replacement.
Despite signing a four-year contract on the eve of the tournament, the 62-year-old opted to leave for pastures new and allow a fresh face to put his, or her, stamp on the team. But who is the leading favourite to take the reins?

5. Derek McInnes - 16/1
Had he not taken the Rangers job just last month, this could have had serious legs in it. Alas, his very recent appointment at Ibrox means he's hugely unlikely to jump ship this early in his reign. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

6. Scott Brown - 10/1
Out of management since leaving Ayr United earlier this year, Brown has been working as a pundit during the World Cup. An important player for Scotland during his time as a player, could he become the national team's next manager? | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

7. Steven Naismith - 15/2
A successful Scotland player, Naismith has been assistant boss to Steve Clarke in recent months, while he also enjoyed a relatively successful time at Hearts in the not too distant past. A popular choice? We're not sure, with a large section of fans wanting a fresh approach, but definitely one you couldn't rule out. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

8. Alex Neil - 6/1
A playoff expert, he's won promotion with Sunderland, Norwich City and Hamilton during his managerial career, and took Millwall to the brink of automatic promotion to the English Premier League last year. He's got no experience of international football, but he has strong coaching credentials that see him high on the bookies' list of favourites. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images
