Man Utd starlet and Hearts duo earn Scotland call ups as fourth World Cup goalkeeper revealed
Clarke adds promising youngsters to pre-World Cup training squad
Steve Clarke has added a crop of promising youngsters to his Scotland squad and revealed they could feature in the friendly against Curacao next week.
The head coach named his 26-man World Cup roster on Tuesday and has now added four future prospects who will join the senior squad for training at Lesser Hampden next week.
Hearts duo James Wilson and Liam McFarlane, Manchester United starlet Tyler Fletcher - the son of former Scotland midfielder Darren Fletcher - and Dundee defender Luke Graham have all been called up ahead of the friendly against Curacao at Hampden in 10 days time.
The match on Saturday, May 30 will act as a World Cup send-off before the squad embarks on the journey to the USA for a pre-tournament camp at Fort Lauderdale ahead of the final warm-up game against Bolivia in New Jersey on June 6.

A number of Scotland mainstays could miss the Curacao game with Clarke admitting that players who do not finish their season until this coming weekend are unlikely to play.
That could potentially rule out Premier League stars such as captain Andy Robertson, John McGinn, Ryan Christie, Aaron Hickey and Ben Gannon-Doak as well as Serie A quartet Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour, Lewis Ferguson and Che Adams.
It could be an unfamiliar Scotland line-up that takes to the pitch against Dick Advocaat’s side in Glasgow, featuring primarily players from the Scottish Premiership and English Championship.
“The core group who finish on the weekend of 23/24 will come in Friday night before Curacao and probably won't be selected for the Curacao game,” Clarke explained.
“It's just a decision that we made that we have to give them some time off to try and refresh a little bit before they go into the World Cup campaign.”
It could also result in caps being handed out to the four Scotland Under-21 internationals who have been called in to bolster numbers. “They should be in the squad for the Curacao game to help us with numbers for that match,” Clarke added.
Hearts youth McFarlane, 19, will be on the plane to America having been selected as a training goalkeeper for the World Cup after catching the eye during a loan spell with Alloa Athletic.
Tynecastle team-mate Wilson, who has returned from his loan at Tottenham Hotspur, already has a senior Scotland cap to his name after becoming the nation's youngest-ever international in the modern era when he made his debut in the Nations League play-off tie against Greece last year.
Fletcher, 19, has broken into the first-team squad at Old Trafford this season and made his debut against Spurs in February. The midfielder was also named Denzil Haroun Reserve-Team Player of the Year by United.
Graham, 22, has enjoyed an excellent breakthrough season for Dundee, establishing himself as one of the most sought-after defensive talents in Scotland with Rangers, Norwich and Portsmouth all reportedly interested in signing the centre-back this summer.
Clarke, who is set to extend his contract with the Scottish FA until Euro 2028, said: “It’s helpful for us, because it boosts our numbers for training – given the staggered arrivals of those who are still playing domestically – and it allows us to take a closer look at some boys who are on our radar.
“It should also be a very positive experience for the players themselves, who will get an insight into what we look for in the senior squad environment, surrounded by top professionals.
“Liam will meet up later in the week and will travel to America with the squad as a training goalkeeper.”
