Scotland’s near three-decade exile from the World Cup will finally come to an end this summer after securing qualification with an unforgettable 4-2 win over Denmark late last year.
While it was Scott McTominay who took the headlines for his jaw-dropping overhead kick to score the opener, Steve Clarke’s side had several heroes throughout their qualification campaign, with youngsters such as Lennon Miller and Ben Gannon-Doak also playing key roles in helping Scotland finally achieve their World Cup dream.
With several up-and-coming young Scottish talents now plying their trade at some of Europe’s biggest clubs, the Tartan Army are wondering who will be next to emerge from the youth set-up and lay their claim for inclusion in Scotland’s senior side.
Here are the 18 Scottish teenage talents we’re tipping to make an impact in 2026:

5. Sam Chambers - Leeds United
The 18-year-old has already made his professional debut for Leeds, earning comparisons to Cole Palmer following his impressive performance in an FA Cup tie against Millwall last January. Was named on the substitutes bench in the recent English Premier League draw with Manchester United, and was recently rewarded with a new long-term deal at Elland Road. The tricky winger can play on either flank, and has been heavily praised by head coach Daniel Farke, with the German saying he will play "an important role" for the club in the future. | Getty Images

6. Alfie Osborne - Hearts
The Scotland under-19 international has been lauded for his maturity, versatility, and leadership qualities despite only turning 17 last July. A product of the Tynecastle academy, the defender is yet to make his senior debut for the Jambos, but has been touted as a star of the future after catching the eye of his senior teammates and coaches alike. 7. Kyle Glasgow - Rangers
One of the most promising young talents in Scotland, the 15-year-old is the youngest player on this list. The versatile midfielder is already training with the Rangers first-team, and was only denied a senior debut in the 5-0 Scottish Cup win over Annan Athletic last week due to an SFA ruling. He was awarded player of the match following his performance in a youth match against Étoile Sportive du Sahel at the Alkass International Cup earlier this month. | SNS Group Photo: SNS Group

8. Josh Landers - West Ham United
The tireless centre-forward runs the channels well and has been praised for his hold-up play, though it is his goal-scoring ability that has captured the imagination of many. Having made three senior appearances for Hibs, he was snatched by West Ham, where he has regularly featured in their under-18 and under-21 teams since his arrival in February. Still just 18, Landers has scored 16 goals in 34 games for the Hammers' youth teams. | SNS Group
