Hearts continue their pre-season preparations with a visit from La Liga outfit Rayo Vallecano on Friday night in the capital.
Fresh off the back of a 2-1 friendly win over Arbroath on Tuesday night, Hearts’ new head coach, Wouter Vrancken, will take charge of his first game at Tynecastle, with Los Franjirrojos the visitors to Gorgie.
Ahead of the game, the 47-year-old confirmed that players who sat out or had limited minutes during the victory against Arbroath will play a major role against the La Liga side, saying, “For sure, they will play. We'll see how many minutes, but we're sure they will play against Rayo Vallecano.
“When you score one or two in this first half, it gives more confidence, and you have more of the flow. That would be a better feeling also. Not for me, but for the players on the pitch at the moment to do their thing. Now it's a pity, but that's what our preparation is for.”
Following the clash against the Spanish top-flight side, Hearts will turn their attention to the first leg of their crucial Champions League qualifier against Sturm Graz. The Jambos will head to the Merkur Arena on Tuesday, before they welcome the Austrian Bundesliga side back to Edinburgh the following Tuesday (July 28).
