How to watch Motherwell v Celtic with Premiership title on line
Celtic travel to Motherwell on Wednesday night knowing that they must avoid defeat to keep their hopes of retaining their Scottish Premiership title in their own hands.
Any repeat of the 2-0 loss suffered under Wilfried Nancy at Fir Park in December will hand Hearts the opportunity to clinch their first title in 66 years with a win over Falkirk at Tynecastle.
Any other sequence of results will see the title decided in a final day shoot-out between Celtic and Hearts at Parkhead on Saturday where the league trophy, and a place in next season’s Champions League play-off round, will be at stake.
Celtic go into their penultimate match of the league season one point behind leaders Hearts in second place knowing that two wins will secure the championship for a fifth successive season.
Martin O’Neill’s men have momentum on their side, having won six consecutive matches in all competitions, and can secure a silverware double with the Scottish Cup final against Dunfermline on the horizon.
Motherwell could also secure a fourth place finish and guarantee European football next season with a victory as they look to finish a positive first season under manager Jens Berthel Askou on a high.
