Celtic refocus their attention on the Europa League this week as they visit Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara on Thursday night (kick-off: 5.45pm UK time).
Martin O’Neill’s side currently occupies the final playoff spot in the table, having won two, drawn one and lost three of their opening six games,. They head to Northern Italy knowing that defeat could see them scrambling to progress to the knockout rounds when they welcome FC Utrecht in their final league phase game next week.
As for their hosts, Bologna, they enter the game in a far healthier position and look on course to secure at least a playoff berth. Currently in 13th position, a win against Celtic would secure that playoff spot and give them a chance at gaining automatic qualification to the knockout rounds.
