Celtic will be forced to enter the transfer market this summer following the news that veteran goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is facing up to a year out with a shoulder injury.
The 39-year-old stopper has missed the last month of action at Parkhead, and it has now been confirmed that he must undergo two surgeries to fix the problem. With his current deal set to expire in the summer, he has almost certainly played his final game for the club.
While Viljami Sinisalo has performed well in his absence and will feel like he can take the number one spot himself, it stands to reason that the Celtic hierarchy are likely to scour the transfer market this summer to at least boost their options in the goalkeeping department.
But which goalkeepers could they look at in order to plug the gap in their squad ahead of next season?
Here, The Scotsman we look at 10 goalkeepers Celtic could look to sign in order to replace Schmeichel this summer, including a double promotion winner and a wildcard option from across the pond:

5. Mark Travers - Everton
The Republic of Ireland international has been forced to play second fiddle to Jordan Pickford at Everton this season, but has shown his ability in flashes. He flourished on loan to Middlesbrough during the 2024/25 season, but has played just five games this term. 6. Chris Brady - Chicago Fire
One of the MLS’s most promising young goalkeepers, Brady has Scottish heritage and has been linked with a potential national team call-up in the recent past. Still just 22, Brady has played over 100 games for Chicago Fire in the last three seasons and is viewed as one of the league's top goalkeepers. 7. Michael Cooper - Sheffield United
The 26-year-old was one of Sheffield United's standout performers as they made it all the way to the EFL Championship playoff final last season, keeping 23 clean sheets in 46 games, including a nine-game run of not conceding a goal at home. The Blades haven't lived up to their billing this term, sitting in an unexpectedly low position of 15th, and Cooper's own performances have fluctuated slightly. His shot-stopping ability, combined with a strong command of his box, means he is still viewed as one of the second tier's best goalkeepers, though. | Getty Images

8. Freddie Woodman - Liverpool
The former Newcastle United youngster rose to prominence with Preston North End, where he was hailed as one of the EFL Championship's best goalkeepers due to his shot-stopping abilities. Made the unusual move to sign for Liverpool as their third-choice goalkeeper this season, but has yet to play a single league game for them. Aged 29, Woodman could welcome a move to Celtic in order to play more regularly.
