Daizen Maeda scored an early double as Celtic moved into the Premier Sports Cup quarter-finals with a 3-1 victory over Hibs.
Mykola Kuharevich pulled a goal back for Hibs before half-time, but the visitors paid the price for a poor attempt to play the ball out from the back as Nicolas Kuhn restored Celtic’s two-goal lead.
Maeda started up front as a stand-in striker after Japan team-mate Kyogo Furuhashi dropped out with the shoulder injury he suffered during Celtic’s 2-0 win over Hibs the previous weekend. Adam Idah started on the bench following his big-money move from Norwich.
We give each player a mark out of ten for their performance at Parkhead.

5. Greg Taylor - 7
Got forward regularly and played several penetrating passes in another polished display. One of a number of Celtic players who have raised their game again this season and any new incoming left-back will have a hard time knocking him out of the starting XI. | SNS Group

6. Jordan Obita - 4
Struggled to deal with the threat of Nicolas Kuhn. Was posted missing for Celtic's opener as Hatate broke into space down the right after just four minutes. Most of Hibs problems came down his side. | SNS Group

7. Liam Scales - 6
Loose in possession a couple of times but defensively sound as he comfortably handled what little threat Hibs offered. | SNS Group

8. Marvin Ekpiteta - 4
The centre-back will be seeing Daizen Maeda in his nightmares. Lost the run of the Celtic striker for both his early goals and then played a risky ball back to his goalkeeper that led to Celtic's third. Won't face a forward line of this quality every week in Scotland but he struggled here. | SNS Group
