‘Exceptional’ Scottish restaurant named among the best in the world
A Scottish restaurant has been named number one in the UK and fourth in the world for fine dining.
The Witchery in Edinburgh has been named first in the UK and fourth in the world for fine Dining in Tripadvisor’s Traveller’s Choice Best of the Best 2026 awards, placing James Thomson’s much-loved restaurant among the top one percent of restaurants on Tripadvisor globally.
The accolade, Tripadvisor’s highest honour, is based on the quality and quantity of traveller reviews collected worldwide over the past 12 months, making the recognition a powerful endorsement from diners themselves.
The only other Scottish restaurant in the UK list was Dùthchas, also in Edinburgh, which made it to the number 19 slot.
