On Friday morning, the restaurant confirmed the branch remained closed to customers.

It is unclear when the store will reopen.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “Food safety and hygiene is of the utmost importance to us.

“Following a pest sighting, we made the decision to temporarily close our Pollokshaws restaurant so that a full investigation could take place.

“We continue to work with our pest control experts on when we can re-open and apologise for any inconvenience caused."
