Holyrood election 2026: Check when your constituency will be announced

Check when all the Scottish Parliament election results are expected to be announced on Friday.

The winner of the Scottish Parliament election could be known by Friday teatime, as estimated declaration times are published.

This time around there will be no overnight counting - instead, counting will start across the country at 9am on Friday morning.

The first declaration is expected at midday in Airdrie, and the last constituencies to be finalised are expected to be Inverness and Nairn, and Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, at 6.30pm.

Once all the constituency votes are counted, the regional votes will start being totted up, with the first of these results expected to be South Scotland and West Scotland at 4pm.

This means John Swinney will know whether or not he will stay on as First Minister by teatime on Friday. He is hoping to win 65 seats to get an outright majority in the Scottish Parliament.

In 2021, the SNP won 64 seats, the Conservatives 31, Labour 22, the Greens eight and the Lib Dems four.
