Scotland goes to the polls today in the seventh Holyrood election since the devolved parliament was re-established in 1999.
A total of 129 MSPs will be elected across 73 constituencies and hundreds of polling stations in schools, churches, and other community buildings.
For those of us who didn’t request a postal vote, a trip to one of these polling stations will be required to cast our ballot and have our democratic say in the future of the country.
Thankfully for dog lovers, many people take their family pooch along to vote - meaning there’s penty of chances to get a pat outside as the pups wait for their owners to return.
Here are our favourite democracy-loving dogs of the day.
