Taylor Swift fans think they know when Reputation (Taylor's Version) will be announced — no really, this time
I think I've seen this film before... Taylor Swift fans think she will announce Rep TV during the American Music Awards on Monday, May 26.
It’s been a long time coming, but Swifties may finally on the verge of news about Reputation (Taylor’s Version).
For months now - and with particular fervour during the final shows of her blockbuster Eras Tour - Taylor Swift fans were certain that she was set to rerelease her 2017 album Reputation.
And while, yes, there have absolutely been hints towards its imminent arrival, we are still without Taylor’s Version of the record. But that could all be about to change — for real this time.

So, if you’re ready to get your clown makeup on once again, let’s look at all the reasons why Taylor Swift fans are certain that Rep TV will soon be here.
Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor's Version) appears in The Handmaid’s Tale
One of the biggest signs that Rep TV could be arriving shortly, is the re-recording of Look What You Made Me Do which appeared on the soundtrack of the penultimate episode of The Handmaid’s Tale, a TV series based on the book by Margaret Atwood.
Starring Mad Men actress Elisabeth Moss as June Osbourne (Offred) during the episode released on May 19, Swift’s song provides the soundtrack to a rebellion - a perfect fit. Speaking to Billboard, Moss said that they had been wanting to use Swift’s music for a long time but that the “perfect moment” had finally arrived.
Which, obviously, Swifties took to mean that Reputation (Taylor’s Version) will be coming out ASAP.
It’s the Year of the Snake
Taylor Swift is also known for leaning heavily on symbolism, and Reputation is perhaps one of the biggest examples of this. The entire album is covered in snake motifs and themes, with its original release coming post Kanye West and Kim Kardashian feud.
And 2025 is the Year of the Snake according to the Chinese zodiac...
There have been other hints too, some appearing as early as 2023. For example, Taylor’s Version of Delicate appeared in The Summer I Turned Pretty that same year, with Look What You Made Me Do - yes, the same song everyone is getting excited about again - having turned up in series Wilderness.

Then there were all the black and white clues which ended up being a red herring ahead of Swift announcing The Tortured Poets Department.
And in 2025 there have been some other vague hints, such as “Spotify glitches”, necklace wearing and Travis Kelce’s noncommittal response to questions about Rep TV.
So... do we actually know the release date for Reputation (Taylor’s Version)?
One of these days, hardcore Swifties will be proven correct. But is their time now? It’s hard to tell.
In her words: “I think I've seen this film before, and I didn't like the ending”...
There are some especially relevant points to consider; namely the song being used in The Handmaid’s Tale. But otherwise, we are still waiting to find out the release date for Reputation (Taylor’s Version).
That being said, there is strong speculation that Taylor Swift will announce the album during the American Music Awards on Monday, May 26.
There is precedent for it as well, given her TTPD Grammys announcement. But is Taylor one to repeat an old trick like that?
We shall soon find out.
