Here’s why Taylor Swift fans think a big announcement is coming during 100th show in Liverpool

Following three impressive nights in Edinburgh, the American superstar will soon mark her 100th Eras Tour show at Anfield Stadium on June 13. Swift’s lucky number is famously 13 and with the anniversary of the record-breaking world tour, fans are convinced she will share an important piece of news during tonight’s show.

Swifties are very used to putting on their detective caps (or sometimes clown wigs) to try and uncover clues from the star.

Ahead of her surprise album announcement during the Grammys, fans were already abuzz with speculation. Across social media her profile pictures had been changed to black and white images - which were eventually revealed to be the cover of The Tortured Poets Department - and fans instantly assumed this meant the reveal of her Reputation re-record.

This was, pardon the pun, very swiftly dismissed when her website “went down” with the error code “hneriergrd” - an anagram for “red herring”. Instead, she announced The Tortured Poets Department, which was only revealed to be a double album on release day.

The star is notorious for playing games with her fans, so if Swifties think something is going on, they may very well be correct.

Why do fans think Taylor Swift is about to announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version)?

Well, during her final Eras Tour show in Edinburgh Swift referenced her “Taylor’s Version” albums and mentioned “all” of her work. In addition, she repeated a mash up song during her surprise set: haunted/exile, the second of which includes the lyrics “I gave so many signs”.

After analysing Taylor Swift’s social media posts - specifically around the time that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) was announced - Kristen, a Swiftie, claims that she is repeating the same clues as she did then. She references how the caption for Taylor Swift’s Edinburgh wrap up post didn’t point ahead with a “soon” emoji to Liverpool, unlike her previous ones and that the last time this happened, she announced the 1989 rerecord.

Others also point out that Swift’s Instagram grids are “aligned” and that all of her news is shared when this happens. While this is a particularly deep look into the reasons behind Swifties’ suspicions, there are more obvious clues.

During the first night of the Eras Tour in Edinburgh, Swift took to the stage during her Red era wearing a t-shirt which read: “This is NOT Taylor’s Version”.

Taylor Swift was photographed wearing the same necklace she had on during her surprise Grammy announcement while out for dinner with a group of friends, including Reputation album photographer Mert Alas.

In addition, the significance of Swift performing in Liverpool for her 100th show hasn’t been lost on Swifties as it’s where she shot the music video for I Can See You, which ends with the star hopping in a Getaway Car, the name of a Reputation track.

All of these clues point to Taylor Swift announcing Reputation (Taylor’s Version) during tonight’s show.

Could Florence + The Machine appear during Liverpool Eras Tour show?

However, other theories include Taylor Swift bringing out Florence Welch, who she collaborated with on TTPD track Florida!!!, during tonight’s show to announce a new music video for this Era.

Fans think this could be likely due to Taylor Nation posting a clip of the pair recording the track together on June 10.

However, despite the best guesses of Taylor Swift’s biggest fans, we won’t know more until this evening’s show is over.
