Lochend Drive: Man charged in connection with 'attempted murder' on Edinburgh street

An attempted murder investigation was launched last week.
A 31-year-old man has been charged in connection with an alleged attempted murder which saw a man deliberately mowed down by a car on a street in Edinburgh.
Emergency services descended on Lochend Drive in the city shortly before 10am on Tuesday, February 3, after a man was struck by a car which failed to stop at the scene.
The 36-year-old victim was left injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
On Thursday, police confirmed they have charged a 31-year-old man in connection with the incident and he is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court shortly.
A 35-year-old man was also arrested in connection with attempting to pervert the course of justice, and released pending further enquiries.
