Scottish pubs: Hunt for 'passionate' couples to breathe new life into these four Scottish pubs
Two Glasgow pubs are in need of new operators.
A community pub group has launched a search for “passionate” individuals or couples to run four of its locals pubs in Scotland.
Admiral Taverns, which owns 1,350 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales, said it is hunting for new operators to take over the pubs “to ensure they can remain at the heart of the local area for generations to come”.
A spokesperson said the opportunity is open to people with existing hospitality experience or people looking for a career change.
Two Glasgow pubs - the Penny Farthing on Cathcart Road and Kensington Bar on Paisley Road West - are up for grabs.
The group said it was seeking a “community focussed” licensee for the Penny Farthing, while the Kensington Bar needed someone “dynamic” and “fast paced” able to cater to people of different ages and backgrounds.

It is also looking for people interested in taking over the Flynn’s Boatyard pub in the west coast town of Girvan.
Potential applicants should have a strong understanding of the area’s demographics and seasonal trends.
The Staging Post pub in the heart Airdrie is also being advertised. The pub offers a small outdoor space, as well as a darts space.
Ceri Radford, head of recruitment at Admiral Taverns, said: “We have some fantastic opportunities available in Scotland and we would love to hear from anyone, no matter their level of experience, who would be interested in taking over one of our pubs.

“We are committed to matching the right person with the right pub to ensure that they can continue serving and supporting their communities for years to come and look forward to welcoming some new talent to our pubs in 2026.”
Mike Dove, a licensee at a community pub in Oxfordshire, said: “My business partner, Tommy, and I have loved every minute of running our own pub since taking over two years ago.
“No two days are the same and becoming such an integral part of the surrounding community has been a real highlight for us.
He added: “We look forward to all that’s to come for our wonderful little pub and would encourage anyone thinking about taking the leap to get in touch with the team at Admiral.”
