From Mr Blobby and Cliff Richard, to (far too many) X Factor winners and Queen’s Bohemium Rhapsody (twice), some memorable songs have been crowned the official Christmas Number 1.
While claiming the top spot in the festive charts isn’t as competitive as it once was, it’s still a highly sought after accolade in the music industry.
Last year saw Wham! top the charts for the second year running with the all-conquering Last Christmas.
This year the race to claim the number 1 started on Friday, December 12, with sales and streams counting up until midnight (11.59pm) on Thursday, December 18.
The winner will be revealed live on BBC Radio 1's Official Chart Show from 4pm on Friday December 19, with the full top 100 published online on OfficialCharts.com at 5.45pm on the same day.
Here are the top 10 contenders, according to the bookies.

9. Alison Limerick - 17/1
Alison Limerick's 90s hit 'Where Love Lives' has a new army of fans after a version of it (reimagined by Labrinth) was used in this year's John Lewis Christmas advert. It's 17/1 to hit the top of the charts at just the right time. | Contributed

10. Queen - 20/1
Queen classic 'Bohemian Rhapsody' is famous for being the only song to reach the UK Christmas Number 1 spot twice, in 1975 and 1991. It's 20/1 to make it a hat-trick in 2025 and completes our list. | Getty Images
