From Mr Blobby and Cliff Richard, to (far too many) X Factor winners and Queen’s Bohemium Rhapsody (twice), some memorable songs have been crowned the official Christmas Number 1.
While claiming the top spot in the festive charts isn’t as competitive as it once was, it’s still a highly sought after accolade in the music industry.
Last year saw Wham! top the charts for the second year running with the all-conquering Last Christmas.
This year the race to claim the number 1 started on Friday, December 12, with sales and streams counting up until midnight (11.59pm) on Thursday, December 18.
The winner will be revealed live on BBC Radio 1's Official Chart Show from 4pm on Friday December 19, with the full top 100 published online on OfficialCharts.com at 5.45pm on the same day.
Here are the top 10 contenders, according to the bookies.

3. Together For Palestine - 13/1
Supergroup Together For Palestine's charity single 'Lullaby' is the 13/1 third favourite. Those appearing on the song include Bastille's Dan Smith, Celeste, Neneh Cherry, Nadine Shah, Brian Eno and Little Mix's Leigh-Anne Pinnock. | Contributed

4. LadBaby - 4/1
Charity duo Ladbaby hit the Christmas number one slot for a record five years in a row from 2018 to 2022 with various pastry-centric cover versions of classic songs. They've said they aren't releasing anything this year but the bookies clearly don't trust them - installing them as 14/1 joint fourth favourites. | Getty Images for Hamleys
