Vertu revs up with second Glasgow Geely car showroom at landmark location
China’s Geely Auto is one of the fastest-growing automotive brands in the world.
Car dealership giant Vertu has expanded its relationship with Chinese brand Geely with the opening of a second showroom within Glasgow.
Geely Glasgow Central will operate from the group’s landmark site on Port Dundas Road, which is instantly recognisable to thousands of motorists who pass by the dealership on the M8 motorway every day.
The latest opening follows the launch of Geely Glasgow South earlier this year in the Darnley area of the city.
Chris McKenzie, regional director at Vertu Motors, said: “Fresh from the successful launch of Geely Glasgow South, we are delighted to now open the doors to our second Geely site within the city. We are looking forward to welcoming people to Geely Glasgow Central to explore the Geely range for themselves.”
Robert Forrester, chief executive at Vertu Motors, which has a network of 188 sales outlets across the UK, added: “After the positive reaction to our first Geely site, we are delighted to now open the doors to customers at Geely Glasgow Central.
“Given the high-profile location of such a well-established site, this is the perfect location for our second Geely dealership and will help us to further showcase the brand to people both within Glasgow and further afield.”
The dealership - which is undergoing a £400,000-plus upgrade to create a six-car Geely showroom with dedicated service reception - will give customers the opportunity to explore the first two Geely models to be launched in the UK; the all-electric EX5 and Starray EM-i Super Hybrid PHEV.
