Sky moving into two floors of ‘fantastic’ Glasgow city centre office

“More than ever, businesses are recognising that successful workspaces go beyond desks” – Martin Speirs, CBRE

Media and telecoms giant Sky is taking space across two floors of a key Glasgow office building as it continues to restructure its Scottish operations.

Property agency CBRE advised the firm in securing a long-term lease on the office space at 55 Douglas Street, comprising 26,184 square feet across the fourth and fifth floors of the Grade A development.

Following a major refurbishment completed in 2019, the building offers “contemporary office accommodation” together with a range of facilities including spa-style shower and changing areas, an on-site fitness studio and “extensive” cycle storage.

Sky’s move to 55 Douglas Street is said to represent a “strategic investment” by the firm in its people, providing access to “high-quality workspace that supports collaboration and wellbeing”.

The broadcaster, mobile and broadband provider will also be undertaking an office fit-out with catering and various spaces for colleagues in its customer service group and supporting teams.

Sky joins existing tenants of 55 Douglas Street including Reach publications the Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail, which occupy the entire first floor.

Last year it emerged that hundreds of call centre jobs were at risk at Sky under plans to move more of its customer service online and close or relocate some of its UK customer service centres.

Diana Foxlee, director of Sky Spaces, said: “Following an extensive market search, we were delighted to find and be able to conclude a lease for 55 Douglas Street. It has been a pleasure working with our long-standing partners CBRE, who yet again excelled in securing this fantastic location for us.

“Over the next couple of months we will be carrying out work to make 55 Douglas Street even better for our colleagues, who are looking forward to moving in late May 2026.”

CBRE and JLL are joint letting agents for 55 Douglas Street.

Martin Speirs, director at CBRE, said: “The move to 55 Douglas Street is fantastic news for Sky and its people, offering state of the art facilities and representing a significant investment in employee satisfaction and wellbeing.

“More than ever, businesses are recognising that successful workspaces go beyond desks - they create environments that energise, inspire and support their teams.”
